Samaneh Atef

Samaneh Atef is an Iranian self-taught visual artist.
She has been developing her artistic practice since 2014, working across drawing, painting and sculpture. Drawing is her primary visual language, rooted in observation and an ongoing dialogue with the living.

Her work explores the body as a space where memory and the unconscious resonate, at the intersection of intimate experience and collective dimensions. Through repetition and an attention to states of suspension, she develops a visual language centered on forms in transformation.

Since her first exhibition in 2016 at the Museum of Naive and Marginal Art in Belgrade, her work has been presented internationally in museums, galleries, biennales and art fairs across Europe and the United States.

Her work has been presented at Haus der Kunst in Munich and MUCEM in Marseille. In 2024, she received the First Prize of EUWARD 9.
