Sandy Coburn's practice is guided by the principles of Taoism and Buddhism. Coburn approaches her subjects with a fine artist's poetic sensibility and a documentarian's precision; she captures the dreamlike, surreal beauty that resides within landscapes, wildlife, and culture. Coburn's portfolio spans 35 countries, encompassing numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites on five continents and moving seamlessly between remote glacial landscapes, historic cities, cultural architecture, florals, and intimate animal portraits.
Her photographs have been exhibited across the UK and Italy, including features at the Edinburgh Art Fair and the International Prize Poseidon for the Arts in Venice. Her work has also been published widely in European art periodicals.
I create art that invites viewers to pause, look more deeply, and rediscover awe within the world." — Sandy Coburn
