Born in Mexico and now living in Hawaii for the past 21 years, Santa creates evocative watercolor paintings that explore themes of quiet introspection, memory, and emotional resonance. Her expressive visual style moves between semi-abstract portraiture, fluid florals, and figurative subjects, balancing soft atmospheric washes with deliberate structural forms. Guided by a strong creative foundation from her professional background in graphic and fashion design, she approaches the paper with an intuitive understanding of composition, color harmony, negative space, and tonal value. These design principles allow her to translate fleeting moments and human emotion into luminous, multi-layered works on paper.
Beyond the studio, she draws energy from simple joys like a good cup of coffee, quality time with her family, and self care. Her paintings invite viewers into a space of reflection and calm, offering a poetic visual dialogue between structure, spontaneity, and quiet self-discovery.
Her paintings have been featured in several galleries, including The Cedar Street Galleries, The Arts at Marks Garage, The Icky Love Gallery, and the Downtown Art Center in Oahu. In 2023, her artwork supported the Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope in Florida, and in 2025, she was honored with the People’s Choice Award at the Hawai‘i Watercolor Society Open Exhibition. Today, Santa continues to build her body of work, exploring mood, memory, and quiet human connection through water and pigment.
