Artist Statement

Sara Jot Jaśkiewicz works across textile sculpture, spatial installation and painting, exploring the body as a site of tension, memory and systemic overload. Her practice is rooted in posthumanist thinking, in which the body is not understood as a stable, closed form, but as a dynamic network of signals, reactions and flows shaped by environment, technology and emotional experience.
Her suspended fiber structures and painterly compositions evoke externalized nervous systems, tissues, membranes and biological flows — fragile, entangled and pulsating. Through repetitive gesture, material accumulation and the gradual growth of form, Jaśkiewicz creates works that function as material records of somatic experience. Fiber, line and painted surface become carriers of time, tension and internal states.

The artist develops her practice through series of works such as "Somatic Memory", "Threshold of Endurance", "Membranes", "Sheaths" and "Flows", in which she consistently explores the relationships between body, matter, overload and the process of transformation.

Bio

Sara Jot Jaśkiewicz is a Polish visual artist working across textile sculpture, spatial installation, painting and fiber-based practices. Her work explores the body as a dynamic field of tension, memory and transformation, drawing on posthumanist thought, somatic experience and the material language of tissues, membranes, flows and organic systems.
She graduated with distinction from the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw and completed the Textile Department at an art high school, receiving an award for the best diploma. Her diploma was developed under the supervision of Julian Pałka, a key figure of the Polish School of Posters, awarded in the social poster category at the 2nd International Poster Biennale in Warsaw in 1968 — the same edition in which Andy Warhol received an award in the cultural poster category. This educational background, rooted in textile practice and the strong visual discipline of Polish poster art, continues to inform her sensitivity to structure, rhythm, image and spatial tension.
