Saskia Vugts

Saskia Vugts is a recognized Dutch portrait painter, specializing in realistic oil portraits. Born in 1963, she began her career as a professional portrait painter after her education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk, Belgium. Her work is characterized by intense dynamics and a powerful expression, often in a photorealistic style. Saskia Vugts is known for her ability to capture the unique individual, paying close attention to the preparation and details of her paintings.

Her portraits range from family portraits to business portraits, state portraits, and posthumous portraits. She has, among other works, painted a life-size state portrait of King Willem-Alexander commissioned by the municipality of Vught. Additionally, she has participated in the television program "Sterren op het Doek" by Omroep MAX, where she portrayed Dionne Stax.

Saskia Vugts regularly exhibits her work and has a permanent exhibition space at the ETC Design Center Europe. She also maintains a strong presence on social media and online platforms where she shares her work and projects.

Theater aan de Parade: From March 12 to June 25, 2017, she exhibited forty portraits at Theater aan de Parade in 's-Hertogenbosch.

House of Art Laren: During the first quarter of 2020, she exhibited at House of Art Laren, including portraits of Doutzen Kroes, Queen Máxima, and a series of Brigitte Bardot on brocade fabric.

Van der Valk Hotel Hoorn: From July 15, 2017, she showcased over twenty-five works at Van der Valk Hotel Hoorn, featuring her series of black-and-white portraits of legendary actors and actresses.

ETC Design Center Europe: Saskia Vugts had a stand at this interior collections inspiration center, where she regularly displayed her work.

Beatrixziekenhuis Gorinchem: She exhibited in the central hall of Beatrix Hospital in Gorinchem with her series "Ranking the Stars," including a portrait of Donald Trump.
