Figurative portraits exploring identity as something fluid, layered, and continuously shaped within contemporary visual culture.
Working mostly at large scale, my portraits treat identity as something layered and unresolved — shaped by perception, self-image, and the visual codes of contemporary culture. The feminine figure is both subject and surface: a site where adornment and concealment become the same gesture.
A background in costume design is inseparable from how I paint. Its logic of surface, construction, and ornament has migrated entirely into the canvas — fabric and sculptural texture integrated directly into compositions, so that material becomes a carrier of meaning rather than decoration.
Working at the intersection of realism and a poetic, at times surreal visual language, my portraits hold identity open rather than resolving it — intimate, ambiguous, and rooted in the longer traditions of adornment, portraiture, and the female gaze.
Self-taught painter, shaped by a creative upbringing in an artistically engaged family.
