Sculi — Contemporary Sculptor
Sculi is a French contemporary sculptor whose work explores the relationships between form, color, and light.
At first glance, his sculpture may appear abstract. However, it is not abstraction for its own sake. Instead, Sculi seeks to give visible and tangible existence to what, by nature, has no fixed form: feelings, energy, emotional states, tensions, and inner movements.
He gives form to abstraction.
Matter then becomes a language. Volumes assemble, confront, or balance one another; colors alter perception; light passes through, reveals, or transforms the sculpture depending on space and viewpoint.
Thus, the work is never solely made of matter. It emerges from the encounter between form, color, and light.
From this research arises Cosmomorphism, an artistic approach developed by Sculi.
Within Cosmomorphism, sculpture is not conceived as a fixed form, but as a set of interacting forces. A color can extend a volume, a light can reveal another, a shadow can generate a new form. Depending on the viewing angle, light intensity, or environment, the work transforms and reveals different perceptions.
This continuous transformation is an integral part of the sculpture itself.

Sculi, whose real name is Ulrich Jacquot-Préaux, has developed his artistic education primarily through self-teaching. His journey does not follow the traditional path of a fine arts school, but rather a personal and continuous process of research that began at a very young age.
At fourteen, in 1991, Sculi created his first work in stone. From 1992 onwards, he independently explored different materials and techniques, including stone, wood, metal, resin, light and sound. His artistic development has been shaped by direct experimentation, observation and a constant desire to discover new possibilities rather than by specializing in a single technique.
For Sculi, artistic education never ends. He regularly visits museums, exhibitions and galleries, studies artworks and explores the ideas behind different artistic movements. His aim is not to reproduce what he discovers, but to understand the concepts, approaches and possibilities developed by other artists in order to enrich his own artistic thinking.
Interaction with other artists is an essential part of this process. Sculi actively seeks dialogue, encounters and the exchange of experiences. He considers different perspectives to be a source of learning and reflection. Encounters...
