Sefora Camazano

Séfora Camazano is a Spanish-Brazilian visual artist, photographer and writer based in Valencia, Spain. Her multidisciplinary practice combines photography, digital painting, Fine Art Giclée printing and manual intervention with acrylic and varnish, transforming photographic images into original pictorial works.

Her art explores dignity, identity, migration, memory, resilience and personal transformation through contemporary portraiture inspired by real human stories.

Her principal series, Female Portraits: Looking Back to the Past, comprises 25 portraits developed in dialogue with the work of Joaquín Sorolla and the experiences of contemporary women. Her photographic project Retrats Femenins: Migrants brings together 30 portraits representing 15 nationalities and was exhibited at the Museum of the History of Valencia from March 2023 to January 2024.

Her work has been presented in Spain and internationally, including France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Monaco and the United States.

In 2023, two original works, Freedom and Resilience, were acquired by a private collector in Belgium.
