Seongse Yi

I paint stories of nature and people through color and rhythmic compositions.
At times, I imagine scenes where figures from art history come together across time and space.

In 2018, my reinterpretation of Kim Hong-do’s Mudong — featuring a collaborative performance between Chagall’s violinist and the musicians of Mudong, painted by Van Gogh — received a Special Selection at the Piccadilly International Art Competition.
It was a rare approach at the time, reflecting my interest in connecting different eras and worlds.

I have participated in various group exhibitions and received awards in national and international art competitions.
My works reflect my perspective on light, texture, and the traces left by time.
