I'm SEQ, an expressive draughtsman, figurative painter and sculptor currently based in North America’s beautiful Pacific Northwest. As a student I've studied commercial art and the classical disciplines at the Pratt Institute, The Clarence Muse School, the High School of Art and Design and with Kingsborough Community College.

In regards to medium choices, I prefer charcoals and water-based media both in my studio and en plein air. Materials that are notoriously dark, explosive and often unpredictable in nature suit the hands-on, intuitive physicality of my aesthetic process. Thus: I allow the images to compose themselves and form their own narrative. Using well-worn brushes, rags, painting knives and the critical rawness of my bare fingers I push the pigments onto canvas or rough-hewn paper—or—I mould a lump of clay into, something. Any tool or medium will do. So long as the result concurs with the image what I see inside my private self.
