I am interested in the quiet dignity of things that accompany everyday life. Time leaves discreet marks upon them : folds, stains, fractures and signs of use. These traces are not imperfections to correct but evidence of existence.
Working with oil on Arches paper allows me to reduce the image to what is essential. White space is as important as the object itself. It creates silence, distance and the possibility of attentive looking.

My artistic education has developed through continuous studio practice, independent research, experimentation with mixed media and sustained engagement with contemporary art, museums, galleries and art publications.
