Sergio Cavallerin

Sergio Cavallerin was born in 1957 in Perugia to a Venetian father and an Umbrian mother. He has always had a strong calling for images, which led him at a very young age to the world of visual expression. Early on driven by an author's passion and dedication, he began a career in graphic art and comics; just barely over twenty years old, he embarked on a courageous entrepreneurial undertaking. He founded a humorous graphic arts magazine, Tratto, which included the contributions of international artists; he also created the publishing company Star Comics, firmly believing in the cultural and artistic value of comics, not always sufficiently appreciated by the Italian intellectual set. Through Star Comics he came into contact with the some of the most illustrious Italian and international authors including Hugo Pratt, Sergio Toppi, Moebius, and John Romita, individuals with whom he continued to maintain a Lively exchange of ideas over the years. Sergio Cavallerin naît à Pérouse en 1957 d'un père vénitien et d'une mère ombrienne. La vocation de l'image est forte en lui depuis toujours, ce qui Le pousse, dès son plus jeune âge, à ne pas chercher d'autre épanouissement en dehors du monde de l'expression visuelle. Sa carrière débute très tôt dans le domaine du graphisme et de la bande dessinée, avec la passion et Le sérieux propres à l'auteur et, la vingtaine tout juste passée, il en fait une courageuse activité entrepreneuriale. Il fonde en effet une revue de graphisme humoristique, Tratto, dans laquelle il invite les contributions d'importants dessinateurs étrangers, il crée la maison d'édition Star Comics, profondément confiant quant à la valeur culturelle et médiatique de La bande dessinée, qui ne jouit pas toujours de la considération qu'elle mérite dans te milieu intellectuel italien.
