Serhii Sultan

My name is Serhii, and my art is a testament to survival, structural discipline, and the deep interconnectedness of our universe. Born with the analytical mindset of a mechanical engineer, I perceive the world through geometric structures, forces, and internal balance.
My life path has been defined by extreme contrasts. In 2015, I served in the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and fought on the frontlines in Donbas, where I was wounded and received a 2nd-group military disability status. Today, I continue to live and create in Ukraine under the constant threat of shelling and war. My artistic expression is also a bridge between two distinct states of consciousness: some intense graphic works are born during acute struggles with schizophrenia and the heavy grip of neuroleptics, while my vibrant paintings are created during clear, symptom-free remissions.
My central focus is the "Crosses-Apostles" series. For me, the cross is a profound sacred symbol. I see a single line as the trajectory of an individual path, a single force, or a ray of light.
