I am partially deaf and employed at Ormiston bollingbroke Academy in Runcorn as an Art Teacher. Using Art as means of personal development and encouraging creatively, young peoples self esteem and confidence.
My work is concerned with the continuous development of the industrial landscape and the impact this has on the local environment. In particular, the Bryant Homes 'The Deck', a redevelopment of a disused Runcorn Quayside into a modern living space. Bryant Homes 'The Deck Project' is currently constructing ten 1-2 bedroom modern apartments, which overlook the Mersey.
I work directly on the site recording the changes over time on large-scale drawings, once enough information has been gathered the work evolves into major pieces within the studio. My work explores the coexistence of mechanical machinery and human activity through the industrial structures that inhabit the natural environment.
For the past few years I have been working in partnership with Bryant Homes. This has been an excellent opportunity and beneficial in my personal development as a practising Artist.
