Shurooq Amin is an Anglophone poet, a contemporary artist, a certified interior decorator, and a professor at Kuwait University. Her paintings can be found in private collections, and exhibited in Kuwait, Dubai, London, New York, Damascus, Cairo, Sweden, Sharjah, and soon, Switzerland. Her poetry has been published into two books to date, and in more than 30 literary journals across the globe. Her complete bio can be found on her website
First Kuwaiti to be nominated for the prestigious Pushcart Prize in December 2007 for her poem Framboise Fig and Bronze Nude, published in the Summer 2007 issue of DMQ Review.
Third place award for her poem The Other Wife from Perigee: Publication for the Arts poetry competition in 2007.
Honorable mention for her poem Mud-Roses in the Perigee: Publication for the Arts 2007 poetry contest.
