Sid Katragadda is a San Diego Musuem of Art Guild affilaited Indian-American artist known for his distinctive artistic style, which blends vibrant colors and surreal, dreamlike imagery with deep emotional and philosophical themes. His work often explores topics such as identity, spirituality, and the human condition, making him a unique voice in contemporary art and literature.
He has been painting since he was around five. He started exhibiting and selling his art only in 2008. For the next decade, he was very prolific, selling nearly 70 of his Abstract “Dark Indian Women” series paintings to private collectors across the world. In 2010, his work was acquired by famous filmmaker Mani Ratnam.
He took a break from painting in 2015, to focus on films and writing, before returning to art in 2022, when he painted a series of 12 Western paintings in what he calls Holeism style, based on various humanitarian issues, including abortion, race, war, violence against women, climate change, guns and border issues. He also returned to his abstract Indian women, creating the first of his Timism style paintings.
