Sirajudeen Kamal Batcha

Born on 21 May 1984 in Alor Setar, Kedah Darul Aman. A self taught artist that using “Mirror” as main medium to produce art. Doing “Mirror Carving” artwork will give some special effect with reflection and shadow also will give a new point of view as a new medium artwork.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Carved mirror produced by carving / scraping behind the mirror in reverse by removing the membrane alaminium silvering and polished with chemicals on the carved up into a transparent mirror to produce a desired visual. The whole process is working hand-crafted using production techniques. To produce carved mirror with high quality, patience and care are necessary emphasis.

Carved Mirror is not like any other art medium because in the event of defects or errors in carving it can not be repaired as medium on canvas or on paper, by the sculptor need to be aware and make sure the parts which need to be carved and which should be left on the membrane mirror silvering alaminium .
