Sidney Osioh

Known for his exploration of memory, cultural values and humans as embodiments of family and traditional teachings, Sidney Osioh is an artist whose work is highly contextual. His practice of using a part to represent the whole lends complexity and fluidity to his works, one that connects humans to their cultural and indigenous morals and upbringing.

He began his artistic career by enrolling for his National Diploma at Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic and thereafter proceeded to Auchi Polytechnic for his Higher National Diploma Degree. After his academic adventure, he had his internship under the tutelage of Mr. Mike Ikobi for an exposé into stained glass exploration.

Sidney announced his name into the art world by being among the artists to participate in the first edition of Next of Kin Art Exhibition by Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Lagos. He has then gone on to exhibit and showcase his works on national and international platforms.
