Sofia Koukoulioti is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer based in Athens, Greece. Her practice explores the fragile relationship between nature and culture, presence and absence, memory and transformation. Through photography and digital image-making, she creates atmospheric visual worlds where natural forms become landscapes of silence, mystery, and contemplation.
Drawing on mythology, the natural world, and imagined futures, her work examines the changing relationship between humanity and its environment. From the delicate resilience of wild flora in Stilliving to the submerged, post-human landscapes of Elegy of the Future, her images evoke worlds suspended between past, present, and a future beyond human presence.
Her ongoing artistic inquiry considers nature not merely as a subject, but as a force that remembers, transforms, and ultimately exceeds human narratives.
