Someshwarananda Somu

Pramod Kumar Shakya was born in Nepal on December 3, 1971. He graduated from the Fine Art College of Kathmandu University in 1995.
After a year, he left his country for India in search of his spiritual path, becoming a Sadhu (monk) in 2003.
Throughout his life, he followed the philosophy of "non-violence" towards all human beings, including animals, respecting them even in his vegan diet.
In 2008, he married the Italian Laxmi Devi, and together they opened a family home for poor girls in Rishikesh, India, founding the Somanath Onlus.
Since 2013, he has lived in Rome, Italy, where he teaches yoga and meditation at the Shanti Yoga Center and continues to express his passion for art through watercolor and acrylic painting on canvas.

He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Nepal, India, Japan, and Italy. His art is strongly influenced by the existential and spiritual experiences he has personally experienced, which have given rise to paintings that express the artist's intense personal and inner research and growth. The subjects depicted reflect not only the pleasure but also the intensity of their experiences.
