Sophie Coulthard

My family lives in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and the rural environment I was raised in continues to have a significant influence on my work. I have become increasingly interested in landscape painting over the course of my studies at PAFA and enjoy spending time outside painting plein air whenever possible. I am currently focused on developing a painterly language and exploring the abilities of oil paint to manipulate space.

I am a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts' Certificate program and have also completed a Co-ordinated BFA with the University of Pennsylvania.
