Sophie Drury: Overview.
Sophie has been fascinated by, and experimenting with, panoramic photography since the start of her degree course at UEL.
She began with perfecting the more traditional process of the horizontal panorama but soon discovered she could expand on this process of capturing the horizon.
It soon became clear that to make it a more visually arresting medium, she would have to approach the subject in a completely different light.
As a result, Sophies flipped the focus of the panoramic on its head (quite literally) and gave birth to the vertical panorama.
The viewer can only take full advantage of the photographs, by having the them presented on a backlit, Perspex arc over their heads; Sophie hopes that this will bring to attention a whole new insight into the commonly missed nuances of an everyday landscape.

Inspired by regular trips to the French countryside and also her pets; Sophie was keen to put aside the regular themes of the bog-standard wildlife shot (which often places the photographer in exotic realms, with a huge, zoom lens) and get back to basics.
