Sophie Inard is a French artist based in Paris, transforming iconic objects from sport, luxury, and contemporary culture into textile sculptures.
By entirely covering boxing gloves, balls, and other charged objects in hand-crocheted material, she creates a striking contrast between strength and softness.
Her work slows down symbols of performance and power, turning them into quiet, tactile forms.
Through this gesture, she explores how objects carry memory, identity, and desire.
Her work has been exhibited in France and internationally, notably at the McNay Art Museum (San Antonio, USA) as part of the exhibition Sport & Spectator (2025), and will be presented at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (Kansas City, June–December 2026). She has also collaborated with brands such as Merci and Harley-Davidson Paris.
