Stefania Francesca Turco

Stefania Turco, born in Caltanissetta, is a veterinary surgeon specializing in gynecology and andrology.
Her artistic journey began almost by chance in the fall of 2018, during a period of
absence from work due to personal issues. Seeking a way to cope with her sense of
disorientation, she rediscovered painting as a nocturnal therapy, an intimate space in which to express
strong and contrasting emotions.
Initially painting for herself, she then opened her art to the public with the exhibition "Art that Heals" in
Caltanissetta, a sign of a dialogue that becomes sharing. Her style develops through a
material and three-dimensional mix that incorporates pigments, acrylics, oils, and various materials, creating
canvases that are almost pictorial sculptures. Her subjects, initially inspired by medicine and
biology, are later enriched by a deep connection to her homeland, a reflection of a
rooted and conscious identity.
Drawn to abstract art and action painting, Stefania is guided by a free and

statement; For me, art is a refuge, an unbreakable bubble where I can envelop myself and give form to my
deepest feelings. Painting is born from an intimate urgency, from a need to express
what I feel without mediation, in an often nocturnal and solitary dimension. The impasto technique,
with its thick layers and varied materials, is my material signature: each canvas becomes a
small sculpture, a tactile tale of emotions and memories.
I discovered abstraction spontaneously, with an impulsive and liberating gesture, which opened
the door to an art without boundaries, where judgment leaves room for personal interpretation.
The act of painting becomes movement, energy, a dialogue between surface and color, between form and
sensation.
My connection to my land and my profession are intertwined in my works, like pieces of
a puzzle that tell who I am and what I feel.
In recent years, I've chosen to dedicate myself to eco-art, transforming waste materials into works of art
that invite reflection on respect and care for our planet.
