b1954, Cleveland, Ohio - self-trained, and happy to be a so-called visionary photographer and visual artist.
Cleveland gallerist Deba Gray discovered my work in 2014. Up until then I was a hobbyist. In 2016 she sponsored my one-person show The Grasp of Order at her Gallery at Gray’s in Cleveland, Ohio. Scroll ahead three years and my artwork and a profile were featured on the Collective Arts Network Journal (March 2019.) Later in 2019 the CAN Journal was named Ohio’s “best magazine,” and was judged so on the basis of a handful of issues that included my feature. Additionally I have seen my artwork presented in numerous juried shows, including three years running in the Ohio OOVAR statewide show. I’ve participated in group shows, including this year’s Cleveland Photo Fest’s “Beyond the Camera Show.” My most recent solo show was "Five by Five" at Article in Cleveland, May 2019.
The keynote of both my work in a variety of fields, and my core interests, are: human experience and learning.
Essentially, my visual art blooms from my musical sensibility. I ask the viewer to complete my work by using their engaged presence and awareness. It really is, quite, simple!
Obviously I am compelled by iterative possibilities. Such possibilities are at the center of the mix of processes I subject photographs, generative, fractal, open sources, and, collaborations, to.
A ten year-old girl captured this intent: "I had to reconfigure my brain to see deeper into your picture." Yes!
My overarching vision is to continue to develop my art practice in the direction of making accessible yet mysterious or mystical images.
Born 1954. Self-trained, although I am moreover deeply trained by my experience and many valuable creative relationships which stretch back to my beginning in the field of music in 1970.
Although I spent decades in the music industry and in organizational development, my personal culture and its creative urgings predate those careers.
