Intrigued by human attempts to bring some order to the chaos of chance or random events, I seem to make work which deals with this paradox. Whether that's trying to deliberately create the look of chance through a process and vice versa, or whether it's operating in the indefinable area created by different classifications of random happenings. I respond to a subconscious focusing of influences, from George Bataille through Cezanne, Kenneth Martin, Gyorgy Kepes, Robert Rauschenberg and Franz Kline to Richard Wilson and Jessica Stockholder.
I allow myself to be drawn to things which trigger my curiosity and react to them as an artist, working with any media, whether its video, installation, photography, painting or conceptual work etc. in order to realise ideas as fully as possible.
