French-born Swedish-American photographer who moved to Stockholm Sweden after living 20 years in New York City.
During that time I worked as a photo assistant with some of the top still life advertising photographers for several years before launching my own career.
When my son was born in NYC my priorities changed, my wife and me decided to leave the urban jungle to the Swedish country side.
I draw inspiration from the likes of Irving Penn, Saul leiter, Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Don McCullin to name a few.
I long for the "simplicity" (not the right word but can't think of another right now) of the early photographer before digital imaging and "over-retouching" ever existed where everything was about the framing of their image the light and of course great printing skills. Of course the printing skills then are today's digital ones but I like to keep those to a minimum in terms of changing an image.
The quality of the image as I shoot remains my main focus where it is not so much a digital manipulation but rather a moderately enhanced version. Otherwise to me the medium of photography becomes no longer just photography from a single perspective but a collaboration with a retoucher.
After 3 years of photo schooling in France I moved to NYC and spent my formative years assisting some big names in advertising photography before settling on my own.
I exhibit my work in small galleries in Sweden and France and am starting to expand worldwide.
