Subhash Valvi

I am a contemporary visual artist belonging to the Bhil tribal community, hailing from the Satpuda ranges of Nandurbar, Maharashtra. Holding a formal degree in Fine Arts from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, my practice serves as a vibrant bridge between ancient tribal folklore and a modern contemporary visual language.

​My works—particularly the 'Waghdeva' (Tiger God) and 'Holi Dance' series explore the sacred, profound connection between humans and nature through acrylics, intricate repetitive patterns, and folk expressionism. Having participated in a prestigious Art Residency at IIM Shillong and exhibited at renowned spaces like Mumbai's Jehangir Art Gallery, my canvases blend traditional motifs with modern textures. For me, every dot is a heartbeat of the Satpuda mountains, crafted to engage collectors globally in a meaningful cultural dialogue.
