Suzanne van Hal started her artistic career as a graphic designer and interior stylist and during these days she was one admired commercial artist in the Netherlands. Her work was used to great effect to advertise and promote several of Holland’s most well known interior brands. She was also well known for her distinguishing and characteristic mural paintings in discotheques and up-scale homes.
A few years ago she decided to move into the contemporary art world. Her style of illustration was already quite loose and painterly which meant that fine art buyers could relate more to her work as ‘art’ rather than illustration which normally tends to be tighter in style. Also, having worked in the interior business she had developed a great sense of how art should fit in with the rest of the interior design plans, and how to exhibit the art to the best effect in a home. The choice of her complimenting colours are made by her great sense of style and her developed eye to foresee upcoming trends in the interior world.
