Sandra Wright is a Colombian born artist, who moved to the United States in 1998 becoming a citizen in 2004. She is married to a Maryland entrepreneur and after his retirement, they came to live at Mount Storm in WV. Physics and Math teacher in her native Country, she is now a full time artist. She has been a member of the Dorchester Center for the Arts in Maryland's Eastern Shore, the Appalachian Pastel Society in North Carolina and the Grant County Art Council in West Virginia.
Sandra Wright specializes in family portraits using charcoal, oil or pastel as well as capturing the beauty of the American country side of her adopted Country on her landscapes and wild life scenery. Winner of multiple awards and ribbons in Maryland Eastern Shore and West Virginia, her work have been shown at the Culture Center at the Capitol Complex in Charleston, West Virginia, Chesapeake College in Maryland as well as the Landes Art Center and Water Street Gallery in Petersburg , the Mountain Made Gallery in Davis, The Tamarack the best of West Virginia in Beckley and The Gallery Shop in Oakland, MD.
