Sylvia Cohen

I am Sylvia Cohen, a contemporary portrait artist based in Quebec, Canada, specializing in expressive acrylic, oil, and mixed media portraits with bold colour and Gold leaf accents. An artist with a profound passion for painting portraits, figures, and crafting resin sculptures that transcend the boundaries of conventional art. My journey, rooted in a Fine Arts university education and nurtured by a background in fashion design, has led me to this point where I work to inspire and empower each viewer through my creations.

About the Art
With every brushstroke, I embark on a journey to unveil the intricate tapestry of human emotions, experiences, and stories. My training in Fine Arts has given me a profound understanding of composition, color theory, and technique – elements I weave together to breathe life into my subjects. Portraits come alive on the canvas, conveying not only the physical attributes but also the essence of the individuals I paint. Through my figures, I explore the nuances of body language.
