Tamara Thalmann

Thalmann is a Swiss-Canadian artist from the Beaches Toronto area. She relocated to Thessalon, Ontario, in 2017 and lived there until 2025. In 2025 she moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where she lives and operates her studio. Her style is in abstract expressionism and most of her paintings are within the medium to large scale range. She works in oil, acrylic, watercolour, sculpture, mixed media, and installation. Thalmann has been exhibiting and selling her work since 2004 through her fine art business Thalmann Designs TM.

Much of the inspiration behind Thalmann’s work has come from her beloved city of Toronto where she lived for most of her life, from her new beloved home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and, from her many travels to Europe and the Caribbean. Throughout her collections one theme that stays constant is her depictions of both cityscapes and seascapes.

She studied psychology and visual arts at York University in Toronto. She is a registered psychotherapist in private practice holding a master’s degree in clinical psychology, and, is a writer and an actor.
