“My work lives where feelings are louder than explanations.”
Hi, my name Masha Joy and my work explores emotional intensity as a physical and visual experience. I am drawn to adolescence not only as an age, but as a state of becoming — unstable, vulnerable, and radically honest.
I work with both portraits and figurative scenes, using the human body as a carrier of mood, tension, and inner movement. Figures often appear calm or contained, while color reveals emotional overflow, contradiction, and unspoken energy.
As a self-taught artist, I trust intuition over correction. Color becomes a primary language — not illustrative, but emotional — allowing feelings to surface before they are organized or controlled.
I am interested in moments when identity is still forming, when confidence and insecurity coexist, and when emotions resist being muted.
My work stays with this intensity — without resolution, without volume control.
