Roberta Terra

I am an eco-conscious textile artist who transforms discarded fabrics into works of art. I am originally from Italy and currently based in Madrid.
My artistic journey began when I moved from Italy to London, where I worked in the fashion industry. During that time, I became aware of the environmental impact of mass production and consumption. This experience had a profound influence on me and led me to explore creative ways to address these issues through my work.
My artistic process begins with collecting discarded fabrics from various sources. Each fragment carries its own story, and by repurposing these materials, I give them a new life.
In my textile collages, I arrange hundreds of fabric pieces to create compositions that, from a distance, resemble paintings. It is only upon closer inspection that viewers discover the intricate details and textures of the work.
Through my art, I aim to challenge viewers to reconsider their relationship with materialism and encourage a shift in how we perceive waste and value.
