David Anderson

I currently live on Whidbey Island in Washington state, I grew up in Southern California, just a few miles from Disneyland. Walt Disney made a big impression on me as I had a 7th grade assignment to write a biography so of course, I chose to do it about Walt. I learned that he faced several obstacles in his life, mostly when he wanted to try things that had never been done before only to be told that they could not be done. And of course, we know how that story ends.

I have always wanted to experiment and try to do things differently even when people say it can't be done and so I've often connected with Walt and his curiosity.

When I started painting, I looked to Disneyland for inspiration as it always brings back great memories of visiting with family as a child all the way to taking my own children there as an adult. I hope my paintings bring back fond memories to others as well.

I also have always loved travel and so my paintings also follow my travels and bring back wonderful memories of many cities and places I have been and hope to visit sometime as well.

Though I have a BA in Ornamental Horticulture with an emphasis in Landscape Design, I have always gotten joy from art and creative endeavors. I have taken many workshops and online classes in art but no formal training.
