The Nuctzn Dailies are satirical mock news prints that offer a snapshot into some of our society’s most compelling and complicated social, political and economic issues of the day.
Through collaging images from various mainstream print publications, the idea is to mimic how we consume information on a daily basis. Each day through hand held, home or work devices we sift through vast amounts of image and text information in the form of news, sport, entertainment etc. Sometimes this information is thrust our way with the lines blurred between the most hard hitting factually important news and everything else news,
“....in the news tonight, Russia launches fresh attacks on Ukraine and Kim Kardashian launches new underwear line, details at 11.”
The collages and text draw on these absurd blurred lines directly or indirectly portraying hard hitting truths and facts with fiction, lies (alternate truths), conspiracies, tabloid news etc.
The hope is to encourage a pause in our frenzied media consumption, think critically on some of these issues and maybe think of our role in the midst of it all.
