Thomas Rimmington

I work with oil and acrylic to make observational paintings of people. I'm interested in the transformative nature of this process, the way in which visual information changes and is translated through the medium of painting. Personality traits, characteristics become heightened, distorted or forgotten. The finished piece of work is a manifested alternative, not a copy of the subject.
