Tim Randall

Tim Randall is a Phoenix-based contemporary artist whose practice combines more than thirty years of freehand airbrush experience with two decades as a professional tattoo artist. Working without stencils, he creates highly detailed paintings that move between photorealism, surrealism and visionary symbolism.

Randall’s work explores consciousness, nature, transformation, resilience and the hidden systems connecting life. Wildlife, sacred geometry, human anatomy, DNA structures and imagined organisms frequently become vehicles for larger questions about perception and existence. Many of his paintings also incorporate ultraviolet-reactive pigments, revealing a second visual experience under black light.

Following a severe traumatic brain injury in 2021, art became central to Randall’s physical and neurological recovery. Rebuilding his ability to walk, communicate and create profoundly changed his artistic direction. His newer work draws from that experience without being defined by it, transforming struggle into imagery centered on adaptation, interconnectedness and continued growth.

Studied visual art and design for two years at The Art Institute of Phoenix. Completed more than twenty specialized airbrush workshops, including programs presented through the Airbrush Getaway and Airbrush Art Circus. Further developed his practice through more than thirty years of independent studio work, professional mural painting and twenty years as a tattoo artist.
