Above all else, I am a colorist, with a profound love of atmosphere and light. I've been painting professionally for more than 48 years. As sculptor Bob Rivera has written: "As an artist, Tim has developed advanced technical skills in his paintings and it’s been a pleasure for me to see and learn from his growth and progress." Following is a biographical sketch of my life as an artist:

1946: Born in Port Chester, NY.

1960’s: after active Army duty, begins a serious interest in painting, while in college, majoring in Spanish Literature. Receives B.A. (Fine Arts minor) from Colgate University.

1970’s: completes Army service; studies briefly at Art Students League with Theodoros Stamos; enters University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts in Painting, with full scholarship; studies with James Brooks, Jimmy Ernst, Angelo Savelli, Neil Welliver; granted final year out of res...

1969:Studies at Art Students League, New York, with Theodoros Stamos.
1972: Receives MFA in Painting, Graduate School of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania. Studies with James Brooks, Elaine DeKooning, Angelo Savelli, Neil Welliver.
2001: Receives Ph.D. in Education, New York University.
