Togo is a self-taught artist who currently lives in Southern France and NYC. He has exhibited in MOMA NY, MOMA AUS, NYC, Russia, France, Spain, etc.
After several decades working in other creative media, including live performance, film and theater, Togo has re-entered the Fine Art World with hundreds of unique pictorial works.
Togo Love is a self-taught outsider who has spent over 50 years creating oil paintings, etchings, water-colors, drawings, ink prints, gouaches and collages ...but, due to his mercurial nature and sometimes bad fortune, little of his artistic output is known within the traditional Art World. The constant intervention of his "real" life is the reason why most of those original works were already lost by the early 1990s.
Although he has lived an adventurous existence touching down in countless major cities and rural towns around the world, Togo Love currently resides in Southern France. He is a very private person and definitely an "eccentric" who lives in a rural 19th Century farmhouse with an entourage of assistants and ten to fifteen dogs at any given time. He seldom communicates with the outside world, yet, he continues to produce new works at an astounding pace for a person of his age.
Today, nearly 1000 of Togo’s works have been collected and cataloged in anticipation that the world will now become aware of this unique, revolutionary artist whose credo is inspired by the philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau's...“I may not be better than my fellow man, but, at least, I am different."
