Tomy Nelwan

Born in Bandung, Indonesia 1985
Currently lives and works in Bandung, Indonesia since 2008

Tomy treat his painting object more specially, Tomy didn't used photo image data to complete his paintings, he preferred to use correspondence way by imitate the object for his subject matter of his paintings directly. Not only by that, Tomy even keep the authenticity of the object by keeping the object size and proportion to his paintings equally. In this way, Tomy paintings will be depending on the form and size of his painted subject matter. The way Tomy works who seems to preserved appearance (form and colors) of the object authentically is testing (once again) in front of us the believe on copying (mimesis) reality through paintings.
