Lilia Waikiki

Nestled in the exciting downtown of Honolulu, Hawaii, the stunning 28-story tower of the Lilia Waikiki includes over 400 residences ranging from studios and 3-bedroom apartments to luxurious penthouses. Blending an elegant interior with welcoming accents and high-quality details, Waikiki’s newest rental destination features artwork from local Hawaii-based artists and images of Hawaiian flora and fauna throughout the property.

Brookfield Properties and Jules Wilson Design Studio brought on Saatchi Art curators to create a large-scale, site-specific installation for the lobby at Lilia Waikiki. To produce this one-of-kind statement work,  our advisors coordinated directly with the Lilia team—from the initial sketches and samples to the work-in-progress photos and final installation.

The 14-foot plaster bas relief panel was designed to resemble the ocean floor and features small reflective shell pieces and textures that emulate the movement of sand and water. The materials used in the panel were found by artist Colin Redican, who collected them at Kāne‘ohe Bay and cast them locally in his studio. Colin personally delivered each of the panels used in the relief and pieced them together onsite to create a seamless, cohesive look.

In addition to the large plaster relief, Saatchi Art artist Curt Ginther’s original painting, “Kaimana Winter – Wind,” joins Lilia’s collection. Continuing the tower’s local art theme, the work depicts shimmering botanic forms indicative of those found in the Hawaiian islands.
