Tree - Jeremy Moffett

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Tree’s artistic practice began in 1996. During that time, he purchased small handmade notebooks from a local import shop. Made in India and small enough to fit in a pocket, the books became a daily companion. He carried them everywhere, filling their pages with miniature pen drawings of people, birds, traffic, and fragments of life unfolding on the streets around him. What began as a personal act of observation became the foundation of a lifelong practice.

In the years that followed, these early drawings expanded into framed works, painting, sculpture, assemblage, and stencil-based street art throughout Los Angeles. From the late 1990s into the 2000s, Tree was active in cafés, independent venues, and public spaces, developing a visual language rooted in fragmentation, movement, and close observation of everyday life.

Throughout the early and mid-2000s, travels through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Thailand deepened his relationship to place and observation. Large-scale paintings, mixed media works, and sculptural pieces including repurposed objects and installation works.

2002–2006 — Group Exhibitions & Street Art Projects, Los Angeles, USA
Participated in multiple exhibitions and independent art spaces including The Bourgeois Pig, Hookah Lounge, and Han Cholo Gallery. Active in stencil-based street art across Hollywood and surrounding areas.

2007 — Artistic Assistant, Emmy Awards Event, Los Angeles, USA
Worked in a creative production role supporting set design and visual presentation for the Emmy Awards party in Los Angeles.

2007–2014 — Exhibitions & Commissioned Work, Los Angeles, USA
Participated in First Thursdays Downtown LA Art Walk and monthly exhibitions at Angel City Brewery. Produced commissioned paintings, sculptures, and large-scale works during this period.
