Trevin Jamal

Twenty years. Five media. One city.
Trevin Jamal Hopgood began painting at age five in Edgewood, Atlanta — by elementary school his work appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. By 24 he had sold 20+ originals to private collectors across Miami and Texas. His work caught the attention of Rick Ross, who purchased two original paintings at $1,700 each.

His current body of work — the ICONS collection — applies the Warhol pop art method to the architects of Black culture, hip hop, and American history. Bold color grounds. Flat shadow fills. Three-tone portraiture executed with a portrait realist's precision.

Tupac. Ali. Biggie. Prince. Andre 3000. Each rendered in a distinct color language. Each one of one.

Hopgood works in acrylic, charcoal, pastel, canvas, and pen and is currently expanding into black and grey realism tattooing. He lives and works in Atlanta as a husband and father.
