Trevor O'Neil

Trevor O'Neil is best known for his furniture, object, and lighting designs that push the limits of convention. For the past two decades, his focus remained centered on the designed object world experimenting with any and all materials available to man. His use of cork as a structure material has heavily influenced the furniture design world (see his cork sofa) and his imaginative lighting has earned him accolades and awards across the globe.
Through years of experimenting with materials both manufactured and developed by him, O'Neil accumulated a vast amount of abstract material creations and know-how. And, within the last several years, his fascination with the beauty of these materials drew his attention away from the objects they were intended for, becoming the new, central focus of his work.

Trevor O'Neil is a self-taught artist with a BA in Anthropology from UW-Milwaukee, and studied Classical Piano under full scholarship at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.

He left both fields of study permanently for the visual arts around A.D.2000
