Tully Satre is a U.S. artist living and working in Santiago, Chile. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011. Following his studies in Chicago, Satre taught at the Anchorage Museum in Alaska, delivering a course on painting materials from the traditional to the contemporary.
In addition to his work as an artist, Satre is a published writer having written for local and national press in the States such as the Windy City Times and The Advocate. In August 2005, 'The Advocate' named Satre a 'Future Gay Hero.' A year later, Satre was presented with an award from the Capital Pride Committee for leadership in the Washington, D.C. gay and lesbian community.
Satre was awarded the Starr Fellowship at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2012 and completed his residency at the RA in 2013 with his solo exhibition 'Big, Big Bang' in the Royal Academy Schools. Satre's work was named among Saatchi Art's Best of 2013 and was curated into the Saatchi Gallery Suite at the Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill Hotel.
