Since 2006 Valerie has been exploring various painting techniques, since 2009 she has been actively producing quality pieces of art. Ms. Gilbert has regular showings, either solo or as part of a collective with other artists, generally at art fairs, or outdoor symposiums. Her work permanently resides in Galerie Z, a young contemporary Montreal gallery, hosting numerous organized events.

studies at Laval University in the Bachelor of Arts program for visual arts. Before finishing, she changed majors, and completed her degree in teaching fine art for elementary and high school students. Ms. Gilbert resides in Sainte- Brigitte de Laval where she teaches high school part time. Valerie takes great pleasure in sharing her passion for art with her students, helping them find their own path and direction as artists. In turn, her students act as a vessel for her own artistic evolution as well.
