Valerio Mancini, born in Rome on 24.02.87.
I have shown my passion for drawing and painting since childhood, when I enjoyed reproducing comic book sketches, photos, and landscapes. During my school years, I continued to express my growing interest in art.
I began to explore various Italian and international artists: among them, Mimmo Rotella particularly intrigued me. Although linked to the Pop Art movement, he sparked my curiosity for contemporary art, impressionism, and pure abstraction.
In 2015, my work as an interior designer brought me closer to modern textured painting, which I started experimenting with on wood, but mainly on interior walls for decorative purposes, creating entire wall surfaces for commercial venues, shops, and restaurants.
Always eager to break free from conventions, in 2018 I created my first abstract painting on a 30x40 canvas, which I still treasure with great enthusiasm.
From then on, my artistic activity grew more intense, and I began studying and experimenting with mixing various techniques on canvas, using mainly acrylics combined with mediums, oil pastels, charcoal, spray paint, and enamels, favoring vibrant colors. The frames and stretchers are crafted in my own workshop.
My desire is to contribute to making art a shared experience, giving space to creativity and freedom of expression that define art itself — painting without strict rules, yet with a clear and focused idea.
I am convinced that the educational path should be de-schematized, as schools tend to direct all travelers along the same road, even when it is not spiritually shared, thus limiting individual abilities and attributes.
In contemporary art, dogmas have been broken down over the years, and MY IDEA is that teaching should be left to the inspiration of the artist, so that everyone can find their own path and expand cultural potential.
