Vanessa Lim

My name is Vanessa Lim. I live and work in Marne-la-Vallée, near Paris (France) with my husband and my daughters.

My abstract paintings are a reflection of my state of mind. I practice intuitive painting, with no other initial idea than a color combo. During the whole creative process, it is my emotions, my feelings of the moment that are expressed on the canvas. I let my intuition guide my movements and my color choices as the painting comes to life. Each gesture is a response to the previous one.
The curves or undulations are recurrent in my work, animating each painting of a dynamic movement. For me, they are like an allegory of life, sometimes sinuous, made of ups and downs, and punctuated with significant events symbolized by touches of bright colors.

Painting, for me, is a way of communicating positive energies, both for me and for the viewers.

It’s my love for life that speaks.

I am a self taught artist.
I worked for 8 years in webdesign before realizing that virtual creations was not my thing. So I started to learn drawing and painting self-taught.
After the birth of my first daughter in 2011, I decided it was time change my life. I am a full-time artist since this date.
