Vicki Van Vynckt

Painting for me is an expression of gratitude for the gifts nature provides us. Being creative opens up my heart and allows inspiration to flow into my work. As an artist, I have learned to see beyond what normally is seen to reach into a higher part of myself that deeply feels the connection we all have with nature. I am grateful for the gift of manifesting onto canvas that which I cannot always say with words.

I have been painting for over 35 years and have had a few inspiring teachers along the way. Though I studied fine art at The University of Southern Indiana and Cottey College, it was while taking classes at The Atelier in Minneapolis that I learned so much about how to see color through painting outdoors in natural sunlight. I wanted to share what I learned with others so I began teaching painting through community education and also out of my home studio.
